GIM05A – 1-axis azimuth-only turntable modular antenna positioner

GIM05A is a simple and economical very wide-angle solution for antenna measurement with azimuth only operation. It can be used standalone or as an accessory to other positioners for test activities like reflector meta-surfaces or angle-of-arrival testing. GIM05A is also used for simple radar qualification. Different models for different DUT width up to 44cm/17”.

Fast Synchronized Trigger (FST) option provides a real-time external trigger signal to the VNA to enable continuous 3D data capture.

ROBUST AND ACCURATE- All gears in GIM05A are made of precision machined Delrin material for higher strength, precision and long-life span. GIM05 is activated by smart actuators with absolute encoders resolution below 0.1⁰.

MODULAR SIZE- GIM05A design allows the depth and the height to be mechanically adjusted, to accommodate various DUT size requirements. Two standard sizes are 340mm and 440mm representing the maximum diameter of the DUT when the antenna is on center.

CABLE ROUTING- To bring power, control or RF to the DUT efficiently, GIM05A provides pass-thru channels at the center of its rotation axis and numerous anchor points along the path. This way, no connectors or slip rings are needed from source to DUT.

AZIMUTH ONLY OPTION- GIM05A are positioners with only the azimuth/Theta axis motorized. Overall dimensions are the same as fully motorized versions. GIM05A is nothing else than a turntable which can be a great solution for budget-constrained setup or projects like meta-surfaces or smart reflectors

FAST SYNCHRONIZED TRIGGER (FST) OPTION- This option provides a BNC connector which carries the real-time trigger signal and connects to the VNA’s trigger input. The MilliBox positioner controller software configures the instrument in external trigger mode and initiates capture at user specified angular intervals on the fly. As a result, the positioner sweeps horizontally and vertically continuously in a zigzag pattern and collects all the data directly from the instrument without pausing, which reduces the sweep capture time significantly.
